First edition, first print hardback of THE ARCHERS (The First Thirty Years) Edited by William Smethurst and published by Eyre Methuen in 1980. Multi signed by 10 of 'The Archers' cast on the half title page and front endpaper. They include: David Parfitt (Tim Beecham), Tim Bentinck (David Archer), Alan Devereux (Sid Perks), Trevor Harrison (Eddie Grundy), Charles Colingwood (Brian Aldridge), Allison Dowling (Elizabeth Pargeter), Patricia Greene (Jill Archer), Fiona Mathieson (Clarrie Grundy), Norman Painting (Phil Archer) and one other (unknown). .The book is in very good+ condition (green cloth boards with gold lettering to spine) with slight creasing to the top and bottom of the spine. the book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket with creasing to the bottom of the front cover and a one inch closed tear on the top of the spine which also has slight creasing to the bottom. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

From its modest beginning as an agricultural advice programme in the BBC's Midland region, it has developed into the world's longest-running serial, today commanding over three million listeners every wekk in the United Kingdom and countless numbers around the world.
