Twentieth Edition hardback of THE OBSERVER'S BOOK OF AIRCRAFT. Compiled by William Green. With silhouettes by Dennis Punnett and published by Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd., London in 1971. The Observer's pocket series No.11. Describing 185 aircraft with 335 illustrations.

The book is in good condition (Clean blue boards and dark blue lettering on spine and front which has minor creasing to the spine edges and only minor fading along the edges) with slight wear to the dust jacket, which is not price clipped and protected in a mylar cover (light creasing to the spine edges, one small nick to the top corner at the back, very slight bumps to the bottom corners). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears. There is a previous owner's name and date on the front end paper. There is very light staining to the front page ends, but is otherwise a presentable copy.

The observer's pocket reference series first started in 1937. Its aim is to provide an introduction to a wide range of interests. They have also been popular amongst children. They have become collector's items. The first few Observer's titles had focused on nature, but gradually subjects like geology, music and architecture were introduced.

This is No. 11 in the series.

"Now in its Twentieth Edition this book continues to keep up its impeccable standard and to present the latest information on the world's newest aircraft. This book is recommended by numerous aeronautical organisations and also by The Boy Scouts' Association.

The jacket illustration depicts the Anglo-French SEPECAT Jaguar, the first production deliveries of which are scheduled for the last quarter of 1971. The Jaguar will serve as a single-seat tactical strike fighter and as a two-seat advanced trainer with both the Royal Air Force and France's Armee de I'Air."

Pocket size 5.75 x 3.75 inches. 288 pages. Illustrated with black & white photographs and drawings.
