Limited edition hardback of THE GUARDSMAN AND CUPID'S DAUGHTER by Villiers David (illustrations by John Austen) and published by Humphrey Toulmin in 1930. Number 340 of a Limited Edition of 500 copies. Signed by David and Austen on the Limitation page.

The book is in very good- condition (green cloth boards with gold lettering to spine with an illustrated plate on the front board and gilt top page edges) with small stains on the boards due to age as well as a faded spine. No dust jacket as issued. Internally, the front and back endpapers are lightly age spotted and the pages are lightly age tanned, but are otherwise clean and tight with no tears or other inscriptions.

A book of poems, primarily The Guardsman and Cupid's Daughter, but also includes others under the themes of Sentiments and Jests. Includes drawn illustrations for The Guardsman and Cupid's Daughter.
