First edition, first print hardback of BILBURY GRANGE, by Vernon Coleman and published by Chilton Designs Publishers, Devon, in 1993. Signed by Coleman on the title page.
The book is in very good condition (Clean yellow cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine), with minor wear to the pictorial dust jacket which is not price clipped (light creasing to edges). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no other inscriptions.
"Bilbury Grange is a dream house in a small village on the North Devon coast. It has stone lions guarding the front door, two staircases, a courtyard, a clocktower on the coach house and a Victorian walled kitchen garden. The master bathroom has twin sitting side by side!
But when the Doctor and Patsy buy Bilbury Grange they have no idea of the pitfalls which await them: dry rot, woodworm, slipping slates and crooked builders.
With money tight and repair bills soaring, the young couple are forced to look for additional ways to make ends meet.
But repairing Bilbury Grange isn't the only problem they face. Rumours abound that a developer is about to build new houses, holiday homes and a golf course in the village. And then, as if that wasn't enough, Thumper Robinson gets arrested!
