First edition, first print hardback of MY WAY WITH THE POLE, by Tom Pickering. Compiled and edited by Colin Dyson and published by Pisces Angling Publications, Sheffield, in 1989.The book is in very good condition (clean black cloth boards and gilt lettering on the spine) with minor wear to the pictorial dust jacket which is not price clipped (light creasing to edges and very light creasing lines on the front and back only visible under the light). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions. There is minor tanning towards the page ends.
Tom Pickering is an icon of English match fishing, and a man who has made the transformation from natural waters to commercial fisheries with consummate ease. The former World Champion showed his skills on these kind of waters by qualifying for the 2010 Fish 'O' Mania final.
He won 1989 World Champion, Park Dean Masters Winner 2004, Embassy Pairs Winner, 3 Times UK Champion. In 2011, Tom Pickering became Feeder Team Manager, where he lead the team in the first ever World Feeder Championships on the River Tevere in Perugia, Italy. He is still the team manager.
