THE CAT IN MY MIND John Inglis Hall SIGNED
First UK edition, first print hardback of THE CAT IN MY MIND, by John Inglis Hall, with illustrations by Lilian Mackendrick and published by Putnam & Company Limited in 1958. Signed, dated and with a dedication by the author on the title page (see picture below). The book is in very good/good condition (lightly soiled black boards and bright gold lettering on spine) with some wear to the paper dust jacket, which is not price clipped (top of front cover a bit tatty, with largish tear, light rubbing to edges, bumping to corners, couple of light chips here and there, spine intact and lettering clear, inside jacket heavily spotted). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no other inscriptions. Gilt front page edges still bright.
John Inglis Hall sees cats as aloof, self-contained, elegant and faintly delinquent creatures; the supreme enjoyers and opportunists, taking advantage of circumstances but chary of deep emotional commitments, save in rare instances. Here is a poem that reflects the moods and attitudes of our feline companion.23 pages, delightfully illustrated throughout ISBN: n/a
