THE AGA BOOK Hardback Glynwed Appliances

Hardback of THE AGA BOOK and published by Aga, Glynwed Appliances, Telford, Shropshire. No Author or Date mentioned (presumed 1970s). Includes user manual.

The book is in good condition (clean illustrated laminated boards and white lettering on front and spine) with minor markings on the boards which are only visible under the light, but nothing at all drastic. No dust jacket as issued. There is very slight yellowing to the pages and some staining on the odd page (mainly on pages 82 - 83 and 88 - 89 and on the covers of user's manual) none of which affects the text. Beginnings of a split to the top spine edge. Otherwise, internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions.

Anyone that owns or uses an Aga Cooker knows what a fantastic invention it is. The very first Aga Cooker was invented in the 1920's by a Swedish Physicist and Nobel prize-winner Dr. Gustav Dalen. His aim was to design a cooker that would bake, boil, braise, grill, roast, stew, steam, simmer, toast and fry, all with the minimum of attention. And at the same time, provide perfect cooking, easy management and automatic heat control.

This superb book is also packed with more than 500 imaginative and delicious recipes.

Topics include: How the aga works and how to get the best from it. The principles of using the Aga cooker with illustrations, and equipment for using with the stove, followed by recipes.

Recipes include: Soups, Sauces and Stock; Fish; Meat, Poultry and Game (Including Meat and Pastry Dishes); Vegetables; Sweets; Pastry; Savouries and Supper Dishes; Bread, Scones and Yeast Cakes; Cakes, Pastries and Biscuits (Including Cake Fillings and Icings); Miscellaneous, Fruit Bottling, Preserves; Glossary of Culinary Terms and Handy Measurements.
