Terry Butcher BOTH SIDES OF THE BORDER First Edition Signed

First edition first print hardback of BOTH SIDES OF THE BORDER (An Autobiography) by Terry Butcher and published by George Weidenfeld & Nicolson Limited in 1987. Signed to a previous owner by Butcher on the half title page.

The book is in good condition (blue cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with light bumping to all four corners of both boards, light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine - which has a slight lean - and age tanned page edges. The book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the top of the front cover and top and bottom of the back cover and spine. Internally the pages are age tanned but otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

In this book, as well as portraying his first triumphant season with Rangers, Terry Butcher looks back on his nine years with Ipswich Town. He describes his fraught apprenticeship at Portman Road, and how he established a first-team place against the odds. He remembers the glory days with Ipswich Town in the early 1980s, when they won the UEFA Cup and were dubbed 'the best team in Europe'.

Terry Butcher also recounts his 1986 World Cup experiences in Mexico, and comments on the rest of his international career, with over fifty caps and two World Cup campaigns to his name.

186 pages including black & white photographs, plus Acknowledgements.
