Milligan's first novel. The book is in very good condition (blue cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with no more than light general wear. The book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the edges, a couple of tiny open tears to the corners and is slightly frayed to the head of the spine. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
The inimitable Spike, Goon, wit, actor and best-seller, presents to an already captive audience the novel he took 10 years and 14 secretaries to write. Puckoon is a one-donkey Irish town on the borders of the Republic and the North, of sanity and its opposite, of comedy and disaster. 'The Milligan' is the central character in a motley of decent people like priests, publicans, liars, police, more liars and drunks.
