A Box Set of Three 33rpm LP Records of SLS 5205 VERDI AIDA, featuring the Vienna State Opera Chorus (Chorus Master: Walter Hagen-Groll) and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Herbert von Karajan. The cast includes Mirella Freni; Jose Carreras; Agnes Baltsa; Piero Cappuccilli; Ruggero Raimondi; Jose van Dam; Katia Ricciarelli; Thomas Moser. It was issued on the Stereo EMI coloured dog in stamp label in 1980 (recorded in 1979). Included is a 20-page booklet containing background notes in English and libretto in Italian and English.The records themselves are graded better than excellent, with no visible marks when viewed under normal domestic lighting. Superb sound quality in what is a brilliant recording and performance, with NO jumps, ticks, pops or crackle. Just about faultless playback.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels very clean, no discernible spider marks.
The box is graded excellent, clean and sturdy, with no wear to speak of. The WH Smith inner sleeves are also in excellent condition (and still have their 10p price tags!). The booklet also has no wear to speak of. All in all it would be very difficult to find a better copy of this particular item.
