The book is in very good condition (green cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with creasing to the top and bottom of the spine, light bumping to the top and bottom corners of the back board and light rubbing to the bottom of the back board. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket with creasing to the top and bottom of the front cover and spine, creasing to the top of the back cover, a half inch closed tear with a light sticker removal mark to the bottom of the back cover. Internally, the first few pages have light creasing to the top corner from folding, but otherwise the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
From growing up in the tough, hardscrabble neighbourhood of Compton, California, to being trained by her father on public tennis courts littered with broken glass and drug paraphernalia, to becoming the top women's player in the world, Serena has proven to be an insipiration to her legions of fans both young and old. Her accomplishments have not been won without struggle. She has been derailed by injury, criticized for her unorthodox approach to tennis, and was devastated by the tragic shooting of her older sister.
In this compelling and poignant memoir, Serena takes an empowering look at her extraordinary life and what is still to come.
