33rpm LP Record of SCHUBERT OCTET (Op.166 D.803), featuring the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields' Chamber Ensemble (Iona Brown and Ray Gillard on violins, Stephen Shingles on viola, Denis Vigay on cello, Thomas Martin on double-bass, Antony Pay on clarinet, Timothy Brown on horn, Martin Gatt on bassoon). It was issued on the Stereo Red Philips label in 1978. Catalogue number: 9500 400. UK pressing.
The record itself is graded a bit less than excellent, with one or two light marks when viewed under normal house lighting. Superb sound quality, with NO jumps, ticks or crackle and just a very occasional light dust pop. Otherwise more or less faultless playback.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels clean, a couple of spider marks.
The outer sleeve is graded a bit less than excellent, with only light wear (bit of light bumping to corners, original shop sticker to front cover). The spine is intact and strong with no loss to the lettering. The inner sleeve has no wear to speak of.
