The book is in very good condition (black cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with bumping to a couple of corners. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has creasing to edges. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Cover is given more than a thousand operations in which the Eighth Air Force Units participated between June 1942 and May 1945. Numbers of aircraft despatched, units involved, bomb tonnages, claims and losses plus a wealth of other detail are included for each mission. There are also 150 separate narratives of incidents and events, plus detailed appreciations of distinguished combatants. Some 400 illustrations support the text and give a remarkable pictorial record of the Eighth's campaign.
