Richard Gough FIELD OF DREAMS First Edition Signed
First edition first print hardback of FIELD OF DREAMS (My Ibrox Years) by Richard Gough with Ken Gallacher and published by Mainstream Publishing Company in 1993. Signed to a previous owner by Gough on the front endpaper.
The book is in very good- condition (blue cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine and light bumping to the bottom corners of the front and back boards. The book is in a very good- unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the top and bottom of the front cover and spine as well as the top of the back cover. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
In Field of Dreams, Gough has decided to tell his own story. His views are as single-minded as his performances on the field. He tells of his bust-up with Dundee United manager, Jim McLean, when he demanded a transfer. He gives the inside story of his famous airport row - and subsequent troubles - with Scotland team boss, Andy Roxburgh, and pulls no punches as he discusses his time with Dundee United, Spurs and Rangers. This is the story of a Scotland skipper who was born in Stockholm, grew up in South Africa and who has played all his professional football in Britain. It is also the story of Rangers and their success over recent years (1990s).
Gough tells it as it is - hard hitting, provocative and controversial. Items are sent promptly and well packed
