First edition first print hardback of HORNCHURCH EAGLES by Richard C Smith and published by Grub Street in 2002. Signed to a previous owner by Smith and 2 veterans on the title page. The signatures are those of: Dave Davis of 222 (Spitfire) Squadron; John Gill rigger, of 74 Squadron.

The book is in near fine condition (blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with no significant wear. The book is in a near fine unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing here and there. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

The book covers the life stories of eight of the airfield's most distinguished fighter pilots of the Second World war.
