The book is in very good condition for its age (brown boards with black lettering to front and spine) with just light age related wear. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket which has small pieces missing at the corners and sundry chips and nicks and general age related wear but is otherwise intact. Internally the pages are remarkably clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.

This book presents 118 breeds and varieties. Both familiar and unfamiliar breeds are dealt with, covering the horses and ponies of the world, from the Shire horse of town and countryside, to the Russian Orlov Trotter and the Pinto of Wild West fame. There are 81 black & white illustrations.
