An early hardback edition of THE BATTLE AND THE BREEZE by R. M. Ballantyne. Published by James Nisbet & Co. Ltd, London. No date given (has an inscription dated 1916). It was first published in 1869.The book is in good condition (Green - blue cloth boards with atmospheric illustration of lugger off coast), with some bumping/rubbing to the corners and edges, a patch of brown stains together with some rubbing at the back, small stain to front. There is some heavy tanning to the endpapers and page ends, some foxing to the pages. The pages are tight and there are no tears. There is a previous owner's inscription and old book sellers embossed stamp on the front endpapers.
Volume 13 of Ballantyne's Boys adventure story Miscellany series. Alternate title of "The Fights and Fancies of a British Tar: The battle of the Nile.
