Quentin Reynolds MINISTER OF DEATH First Edition

First UK edition, first print hardback of MINISTER OF DEATH - The Adolf Eichmann Story, by Quentin Reynolds, Ephraim Katz and Zwy Aldouby and published by Cassell & Company Ltd, London, in 1961.

The book is in very good condition (clean black boards and gold lettering on spine) with only slight wear to the dust jacket, which is price clipped (slight creasing/ rubbing to edges, a small closed tear to the top spine corner, some yellow spots inside the jacket which is not noticeable from outside, back cover lightly soiled, but nothing too drastic). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions. There is very slight tanning to the pages.

On May 11, 1960, in a suburb of Buenos Aires, Ricardo Klement was kidnapped. With his consent he was smuggled to Israel, there to face trial in the spring of 1961 as Adolf Eichmann, the arch-murderer of Nazism, a man indicted at the Nuremburg trials, it was thought posthumously, for the systematic extermination of six million human beings, men women and children; for his responsibility for the organization of the mass shootings, the gas chambers, the furnaces, the drownings, the medical experiments; for Belsen, Auschwitz, Dachau, and Ravensbruck. He was the administrator of the Final Solution, the liquidation of the worlds Jewry.

Katz and Aldouby were both ex-members of an Israeli underground movement, devoted for many years to the compilation of the most complete dossier of Eichmann in existence. Photographs, affidavits, testimonies, were gathered together; secret Nazi documents, even Eichmanns tape-recorded memoirs, were traced, borrowed, copied and studied and, on the capture of their subject, were placed in the hands of Quentin Reynolds. The result is this most authoritative and unique book. A biography which traces the life from schooldays to a well guarded prison in Israel of an insignificant Nazi who became Hitler's Minister of Death.

346 pages. Illustrated with black and white photographs.
