Collins 1965 hardback of HEIDI'S CHILDREN; A Sequel to Heidi Grows Up, by Charles Tritten, Johanna Spyri's Translator and published by Collins Sons & Co. Ltd, London in 1965. Illustrated by Pelagie Doane.

The book is in good condition (Light yellow cloth boards with brown lettering on front and spine which has slight creasing to the spine edges) with slight wear to the illustrated dust jacket which is not price clipped (creasing & chipping to the edges mainly to the spine edges, some rubbing & chipping to the corners, slight stains/foxing in parts at the back, there is about a tree inch closed tear along the edge where the jacket folded in). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions. Slight spinal lean.

"The publication of the book Heidi Grows Up, which every young reader knows is the sequel to Johanna Spyri's famous story of Heidi, brought many hundreds of letters to the author demanding to know whether Heidi, now married to Peter and living happily in the good doctor's great manor-house in Dorfli, ever had any little children of her own.

So in this new volume we are told not only of the beautiful twins who arrived to bless that joyous home just at the time the strawberry blossoms were abloom on the mountain meadows, but also of unhappy, troubled little Marta who came there to live.

How Heidi helps Marta to find happiness and understanding, and how together they solve the strange mystery behind the life of the old Alm-Uncle, makes a warm and tender and altogether exciting story which children of all ages the world over will enjoy."

253 pages. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece plate and two pages colour illustrations, several line drawings and black & white illustrated endpapers.
