Item description, condition report, payment options and related products below

Hardback of NODDY AND TESSIE BEAR by Enid Blyton and published by Sampson, Low, Marston and Co. Ltd. & Richards Press Ltd., London, in 1961. Illustrated by Robert Lee.

The book is in very good condition (in publishers pink illustrated boards and black title to spine), with very slight wear (slight bumping mainly to the spine edges and corners and very slight fading to the spine). No dust jacket. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions.

Enid Blyton was one of the most successful children's storytellers of the twentieth century. Her books have enjoyed popular success in many parts of the world, and have sold over 600 million copies. Enid Blyton is the fifth most translated author worldwide. One of Blyton's most widely known characters is "Noddy", originally published between 1949 and 1963. Early Noddy books have become collectibles, along with other Blyton books. The total number is hard to count: the Noddy Library (Sampson, Low, Marston and Co. Ltd.) of two dozen titles, which became the New Noddy Library when revised, was just part of a big production in the 1950s, with Big Noddy Books of larger format, and strip books. Television shows based on the character have run on British television since 1955 and continue to appear to this day. This is book number 12 in listed 24 "Noddy" series books.

Tessie is a gentle hearted, gold bear who often wears a bonnet with flowers and a skirt. She is very kind and very loving towards all of her friends and neighbours.

"There's a gale racing around Toy-Village and when Noddy opens his front door he's almost blown over. He tells the wind off naturally and thinks he'll be sneaky and leave by the back door instead but that idea is no good at all because the wind is waiting for him there as well..."

60 pages with colour illustrations throughout.
