Deluxe Edition of MONDES & VOYAGES ARTBOOK by Didier Graffet. Published by Bragelonne, Paris in 2007. Text in French. Still sealed.

The book is in brand new unread condition. Still sealed in the publisher's celophane. (Green/blue/black illustrated boards and green/white lettering on the spine).

Didier Graffet was born April 9, 1970 in the Lyon region. He followed traditional illustration and art history studies and graduated from the prestigious school Émile-Cohl. Enthusiast fantastic, he started his career through role play and got its first order in 1994 for the cover of the magazine Casus Belli. It immediately established itself as the leading painter of the Fantasy in France, including its collaboration in the first hour with Bragelonne editions.

In recognition of his career he received in 2002 the Grand Prix de l’imaginaire for the Best Illustrator, the public award Visions du Futur in the same year, once again the Grand Prix de l’imaginaire in 2003 for his illustrations of Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea published by Éditions Gründ and the 2010 Ravenheart Award for the Best Cover Art together with Dave Senior for the cover artwork of Joe Abercrombie’s novel, Best Served Cold, published by Gollancz.

Among his many works include the complete illustration of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island, Jules Verne, who made it known to the public, and covers the novels of David Gemmell, who have spread throughout Europe.

Graffet is equally passionate about myths and legends, and loves depicting Arthurian and Tolkienesque themes. In 2010 he created his first cover for Ballantine Books, New York: The Children of Hurin by JRR Tolkien.

Didier Graffet is fascinated by the great literary myths, that give the possibility to a large reinterpretation that belongs yet in an established tradition.

His work as an illustrator is divided into several parts, all closely related to the fantasy sagas and imaginary worlds of our childhood: Celtic and Nordic mythology (Knights of the Round Table and The Ring of the Nibelungen), contemporary magic (The Black Company and other recent books of fantasy), the worlds of Jules Verne, or open sea adventure (Pirates et Flibustiers, posters for the Jules Verne Adventures) Festival.

In 2007 Didier Graffet released this art book featuring his works, Mondes & Voyages, and in 2009 he took part at the Maison d’ Ailleurs exhibition in Switzerland.

This Deluxe edition Artbook - Mondes & voyages (Worlds and Voyages) is a collection of very high quality and comprehensive works.
