First edition first print hardback of SECOND TO NONE: The Story of the Hong Kong Volunteers, by Phillip Bruce and published by Oxford University Press in 1991. Signed and dated to a previous owner by Bruce on the title page.

The book is in very good condition (red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light bumping and rubbing to the corners and the top and bottom edges of the spine. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the edges. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

The Royal Hong Kong Regiment (the Volunteers) was founded in 1854 and has continued to serve the Territory to the present day. This detailed account charts the history and duties of the Volunteers.
