First edition first print hardback of LOITERING WITH INTENT: THE APPRENTICE by Peter O'Toole and published by Macmillan in 1996. Signed by O'Toole on the title page. Full numberline is 1 3 5 7 9 8 6 4 2.

The book is in very good condition (black cloth boards with white lettering to spine) with light bumping here and there. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing here and there and a half-inch-long tear to the bottom corner. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Covering his time as a drama student at RADA, the author writes about his student days in London in the 1950s, a time which coincided with significant moments in British theatre. Among the recollections are seeing Richard Burton in King John at the Old Vic, remembering Dame Sybil Thorndyke giving him elocution lessons and describing ballet lessons shared with fellow actor, Albert Finney.
