First UK edition first print hardback of THE DAY JEAN-PIERRE WAS PIGNAPPED by Paul Gallico, illustrated by Dulac and published by William Heinemann Ltd in 1964. Signed by Gallico on the title page.

The book is in very good condition (blue boards with illustrations to front and back that match those on the dust jacket) with light rubbing to corners. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket which has creasing to the spine, rubbing and light fraying to corners and a couple of closed tears. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

The second of Gallico's books for children about the young French girl Cécile and her guinea pig Jean-Pierre, who mysteriously disappears - pignapped. How he is returned home safely and who the robber was is revealed in this simple and charming story.

41 pages with numerous illustrations
