Nicholas Du Quesne-Bird THE OBSERVER'S BOOK OF FIREARMS First Edition

First edition, first print hardback of THE OBSERVER'S BOOK OF FIREARMS by Nicholas Du Quesne-Bird and published by Frederick Warne in 1978.

The book is in near fine condition (green leather boards with white lettering to spine and front) with no significant wear. The dust jacket, which is price clipped, is in very good+ condition with very light yellowing to the covers due to age. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions.

This profusely illustrated book traces the history and the development of the gun, from the most primitive hand-held cannon introduced six hundred years ago, to the most sophisticated prototypes under trial today (1970s), which may be the antecedents of the next generations of firearms.
