First edition first print hardback of AN UNREPENTANT VICTORIAN: The Rise and Fall of Martin Tupper, by Derek Hudson and published by Constable in 1949. Includes a letter, dated June 6th, 1861, signed by Tupper.

The book is in very good condition (green boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light age related wear. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket which is protected in a loose-fitting archival sleeve and has pronounced creasing to the edges. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.
