This is the biography of one of the Bright Young people of the post war era who disappeared from a house in Wimbledon in 1924 and whose body was later discovered in the River Thames.
The subject of this book is the Hon. Gwyneth Ericka Morgan, the only daughter of Courtenay Morgan, the third Lord Tredegar. The Morgan family were wealthy coal barons and land owners, and the family home was Tredegar House.
Born in 1895 to this well-connected family, Gwyneth was expected to follow the usual pattern of life of a young lady of her time: presentation at court as a young debutante, followed by marriage to some suitable young man and, thereafter, an occasional mention in the society papers. In other words, respectable obscurity. Her fate turned out to be the exact opposite and this makes her a much more interesting person to study
Every aspect of Gwyneths life is examined in minute detail, from her early childhood years to her final tragic end, when her body was fished out of the River Thames in 1925. She was only 29 years old.
