First edition, first print hardback of MATCHING FOOD AND WINE(Classic And Not So Classic Combinations) by Michel Roux Jr and published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2005. Signed 'Happy Drinking' to a previous owner by Roux Jr on the page after the front endpaper.

The book is in very good condition (burgundy cloth boards with gold lettering to spine) with light bumping to all four corners, light creasing to the top of the spine and a small indentation to the top edge of the back board. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket that has light creasing to the top and bottom of the front and back covers and spine. Internally, there is slight bleeding on the title page from the signature a page before, otherwise the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

This is Michel Roux Jr's very personal view of pairing food and wine, experience honed over the last 25 years by an appreciation of the classic combinations and experimenting with new and different ones. He blows away some of the perceived wisdoms (such as red wine with cheese) and explores different and exciting combinations.
