First edition first print hardback of THE TRUE GLORY: THE ROYAL NAVY 1914-1939 (A Narrative History) by Max Arthur and published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1996. Signed by Arthur on the half title page. Numberline is 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.The book is in near fine condition (blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light bumping to the top corner of the front board, light creasing to the top edge of the spine and light age tanning to the pages and page edges. The book is in a near fine unclipped dust jacket which has very light creasing to the top edge of the spine and top corner of the front inner flap. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
The True Glory is a memorable and moving testament to the courage, spirit, skill and irrepressible humour of those who have served in the Royal Navy in the first part of the 20th century.
