First edition first print hardback of BOSWELL: THE STORY OF A FRONTIER LAWMAN by Mary Lou Pence and published by Pioneer Printing & Stationery Co in 1978. Signed by Pence on the title page.

The book is in fine condition (brown faux leather boards with gilt lettering to spine and front) with no significant wear. The book is in a good unclipped dust jacket which is protected in an archival sleeve and has sundry chips and open tears, especially to the top edge near the spine. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

N. K. Boswell's career as a frontier peace officer linked him with the transition of the Old West to the New. As border detective, Indian fighter, territorial marshal, town tamer and sheriff he established an implacable reputation as a foe of western criminals that was to span half a century.
