First UK edition, first print hardback of PRACTICAL FISHING AND BOATING KNOTS by Lefty Kreh and Mark Sosin, published by Adam and Charles Black Ltd., London in 1975.The book is in very good condition (Clean red cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine), with only slight wear to the dust jacket which is price clipped (light creasing and rubbing to the edges, a creasing line along the inside jacket flap and slight tanning inside the jacket). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions.
Lefty Kreh, a member of the Fishing Hall of Fame, is on the Advisory Board of the Federation of Fly Fishermen and the Advisory Board of the Salt Water Fly Rodders of America. He is a frequent public lecturer on such topics as Advanced Nature Photography, a professional casting coach and a former fishing guide. His articles have appeared in all the major outdoor magazines, and directs the Greater Miami Fishing Tournament, the largest of its kind in the world. He has been an outdoor writer for more than 45 years and was named "Angler of the Year" by Fly Rod and Reel magazine in 1997. He currently can be seen fishing with Tom Brokaw, Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia), and Michael Keaton on the Outdoor Channel's Buccaneers & Bones.
Mark Sosin, who is also a member of the Fishing Hall of fame, devotes his full time writing, lecturing, and consulting on matters connected with angling. He served as Outdoor Editor for CBS Radio for five years and has published articles in all the major outdoor magazines. Mark holds a number of world records for fish caught on the fly rod, has fished extensively on four continents, and has won numerous awards for his thoroughly researched and helpful writing.
