First edition, first print hardback of LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO: AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY. World Cup-winning rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio. Text by Chris Jones. Foreword by Sir Steve Redgrave and published by Essential Works, London, in 2003, his testimonial year. Signed by Dallaglio and three others (Will Greenwood, Jason Leonard and Martin Bayfield) on the half title page (see pictures below).The book is in very good condition (Clean black cloth boards), with slight wear to the pictorial dust jacket which is not price clipped (light rubbing and creasing to edges and corners). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no other inscriptions.
Former England Rugby Captain, British and Irish Lion and Wasps Legend, Lorenzo Bruno Nero "Lawrence" Dallaglio, OBE was a one club man during a rugby career spanning eighteen years and was also the only player to play in every minute of every game during the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Capped 85 times during his England career he was also a member of the inaugural Sevens World Cup winning team and between 1990 and his retirement in 2008 he was part of London Wasps winning five Premiership Titles, three League Cups and two European Trophies.
Since retiring from rugby Lawrence has established a number of business and commercial relationships as well remaining a Director of London Wasps.
Media commitments include a contract with the BBC and the Sunday Times. Lawrence was also ITV's main pundit in the Rugby World Cup 2011. Lawrence was awarded an OBE in the 2008.
