First edition first print hardback of A WALK WITH A WHITE BUSHMAN by Laurens van der Post (in conversation with Jean-Marc Pottiez) and published by Chatto & Windus in 1986. Signed by van der Post and Pottiez on the title page. Also included is a typed and signed thank-you letter from van der Post to an acquaintance. 

The book is in near fine condition (blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with no significant wear apart from some age tanning around the page edges. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing and rubbing to the edges, most noticeably to the head of the spine. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Laurens van der Post shared a deep-rooted attachment to Europe, Africa and Japan and this is a testament to his commitment to writing and initiating cultural and political commentaries on the issues and personalities of his time. Here he brings together his conversations with Jean-Marc Pottiez, resulting in a book brimming with ideas, insights, people and events; at once thoughtful and exciting, mellow yet full of promise, autobiographical but also topical.
