First edition, first print hardback of LAST STAND AT MAJUBA HILL by John Wilcox and published by Headline Publishing Group in 2007. Signed and dated by Wilcox on the title page.

The book is in near fine condition (red cloth boards with gold lettering to spine) with no significant wear, the unclipped dust jacket (in an archival sleeve) is also near fine. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

The year is 1881, and General George Pomeroy-Colley, commander of the British forces in Natal, is planning to stamp out a rebellion. He is convinced the Transvaal Boers - mere farmers - can pose no serious threat, but before he can advance into unknown terrain, he needs reliable information. He calls on former army captain Simon Fonthill which leads to a desperate battle to hold the summit of Majuba Hill.
