Building 1/1200 scale waterline ship models is a fascinating branch of ship modelling. In the first part of this book, the author leads the reader through the importance of research, useful tools and materials, where to obtain data and plans, and describes in detail the construction of these models.
Each stage is illustrated with explanatory photographs and diagrams, many of which come from the author's own collection.
The second part contains thirty sets of plans for 1/1200 models, each accompanied by one or more photographs of the ship, a brief history, notes on aspects of building the model, and details of the colour scheme. Ships include Aquitania (1914), Titanic (1912) troopship Devonshire (1939) and several types of cargo ship.
