Jo Nesbo THE LEOPARD First Edition Signed

First Edition, first print hardback of THE LEOPARD, by Jo Nesbo. Translated from the Norwegian by Don Bartlett, and published by Harvill Secker/Random House, London, in 2010. Signed by Nesbo on the title page.

The book is in very good condition (Clean grey cloth boards and embossed lettering on the spine) with minor shelf wear to the dust jacket which is not price clipped (light creasing to the edges). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no other inscriptions.

Jo Nesbo played football for Norway's premier league team Molde, but his dream of playing professionally for Spurs was dashed when he tore ligaments in his knee at the age of eighteen. After three years military service he attended business school and formed the band Di derre ('Them There'). Their second album topped the charts in Norway, but he continued working as a financial analyst, crunching numbers during the day and gigging at night.

When commissioned by a publisher to write a memoir about life on the road with his band, he instead came up with the plot for his first Harry Hole crime novel, The Bat.

He is regarded as one of the world's leading crime writers, with The Leopard, Phantom, Police and The Son all topping the UK bestseller charts, and his novels are published in 48 languages.

The Leopard is the eighth book in the Harry Hole series.

"A heart-stopping thriller from the international crime fiction star and top 5 bestseller that the Independent has called 'The next Stieg Larsson'.

In the depths of winter, two young women are found dead, both drowned in their own blood. Inspector Harry Hole, deeply traumatised by an investigation that threatened the lives of those he holds most dear, initially wants nothing to do with the case but his instincts take over when a prominent MP is found brutally murdered.

The victims appear completely unconnected to one another, but it's not long before Harry makes a discovery: the women all spent the night in the same isolated mountain hostel. And someone is picking off the guests, one by one... "

'Meaty, gripping, full of tantalizing twists.'Associated Press

'The Leopard rewards you with a finale as unexpected and thought-provoking as any in recent mystery-fiction memory.'San Francisco Chronicle

'A cracking good thriller. . . . Immerse yourself and enjoy the ride.'The Guardian (London)

'Nesb? also deepens the central mystery at the heart of Harrys pursuits: which is not so much the truth about himself, but rather, whether he can learn to live with that truth. He is a giant of the Scandinavian mystery.'The Boston Globe

'Outstanding. . . . Nesb? moves the action easily from Hong Kong to Norway, with side trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo, without ever losing the plots sense of urgency.'Publishers Weekly (starred)

'Comparisons with Stieg Larsson have been made, but Nesb?s plots move quickly, carry more punch, and really do keep you guessing to the final page.'Daily Mirror

'The Leopards unflagging narrative tension, breathtaking surprises and many confrontations with half-suspected treachery . . . are superb.'The Independent
