James Hilton TO YOU MR. CHIPS First Edition 1938 No Dust Jacket

First edition first print hardback of TO YOU MR. CHIPS by James Hilton and published by Hodder & Stoughton Limited in 1938. Signed and dated by a previous owner on the front endpaper.

The book is in very good- condition (orange cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light rubbing to the corners, a small indentation to the bottom edge of the front board, light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine and some small stains to the boards. The page edges have some age spotting. The dust jacket is missing. Internally the pages have some light age tanning with the occasional light age spotting but are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
