The book is in very good condition (Clean grey cloth boards with metallic blue lettering on spine which has minor creasing to spine edges) with minor wear to the pictorial dust jacket which is not price clipped (light creasing to the edges and very slight moisture staining to a small part inside the jacket, not visible from outside). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no other inscriptions.
Ben Fogle is a presenter, writer and adventurer. His achievements include racing 160 miles across the Sahara desert in the notorious Marathon Des Sables. He has rowed the Atlantic Ocean in 49 days and crossed Antarctica in a foot race to the South Pole. He has presented numerous programmes including BBC’s Animal Park, Wild In Africa, Countryfile, Crufts, One Man and His Dog and Extreme Dreams.
He writes regularly for the Sunday Telegraph and the Independent and has written five bestselling books. The Teatime Islands, journey’s to Britain’s Faraway Outposts, and Offshore, and the Sunday Times bestsellers, The Crossing (Atlantic), conquering the Atlantic in the World’s toughest rowing race and Race to the Pole. His first travel memoir, The Accidental Adventurer was published in 2011.
He is an ambassador for WWF, Medecins Sans Frontier and Tusk, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the President of the Campaign for National Parks. Ben is a special correspondent for NBC News in the United States, reporting from all over the world for Today, Dateline and MSNBC Nightly News. His 5 part adventure series for the BBC/ Lonely Planet, A Year of Adventures is currently showing on BBC Worldwide in India, New Zealand, Australia and Norway and Discovery in UK
ames Cracknell is one of Britain’s most successful athletes of all time, with 2 Olympic Gold Medals and 6 World Championship titles. His epic rowing finals in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 were two of the most watched sporting contests in history but it is since retiring from his 13 year international career that James has distinguished himself as a very special and inspiring sportsman, athlete and adventurer. In the New Year Honours List, 2004, he was appointed OBE for services to sport. He writes regularly for the Daily Telegraph.
