First edition, first print paperback of ROTHMANS FOOTBALL YEARBOOK 1989-90. Edited by Jack Rollin, published by Queen Anne Press, London, in 1989.The book is in very good condition with only slight wear (light rubbing to edges around the spine, reading crease to the spine, minor tanning to the pages, minor foxing to top page ends). Internally, the pages are clean and tight with no tears and no inscriptions.
In the 1970s Rothmans became involved in sponsorship sponsoring the British Olympic team in 1972 and the inaugural Hong Kong Sevens in 1976. They also sponsored Rothmans Football Yearbook, an annual football reference book, from 1970 until 2002. For many years the editors were father and daughter Jack and Glenda Rollin. Jack Rollin was soccer correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph for 21 years and has worked on all but two editions of Rothmans Football Yearbook.

A new international section has details on all member nations of FIFA including the most recent additions and with the 1990 World Cup in mind, there are results for the qualifying matches of the competition.

There is the usual information on Scottish League, Welsh and Northern Irish football as well as non-league, amateur, schools and university football. Full details of international football for the four home countries with relevant appearances, a detailed day-to-day diary of the 1988-89 season and the Laws of the Game are among the regular features of this milestone edition."
