HGC Claypoole INTRODUCTION TO COARSE FISHING Hardback
First revised edition, first print hardback of INTRODUCTION TO COARSE FISHING by Herbert George Charles Claypoole and published by Seeley Service & Co Ltd., London in 1972. (Originally published in 1953)The book is in good condition (Marbled brown paper covered boards and gilt lettering on spine which has minor creasing to the spine edges) with only slight wear to the dust jacket, which is not price clipped (minor creasing and tanning to the edges, small closed tear to the bottom spine corner). Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears and no inscriptions. There is slight tanning towards the page ends and minor foxing in parts.
"When originally published, Introduction to Coarse Fishing was described by The Field as 'the best book on the subject', and in this completely revised and updated version, the author writes with relaxed charm about aa aspects of coarse fishing from the basic principles of casting, to the tactics of catching the individual fish - and how to send it home when you caught it!
The book is amply illustrated with both photographs and excellent new drawings done by the author himself."
160 pages. Illustrated with black & white photographs and drawings. Includes index and bibliography.
