First edition first print hardback of DR GUILLOTINE (The Eccentric Exploits of an Early Scientist) by Herbert Lom and published by Sinclair-Stevenson in 1992. Signed to a previous owner by Lom on the half title page. Includes two loose press photos of Lom, one of which has a printed autograph (to compare with the signature in the book).

The book is in near fine condition (black boards with silver lettering to spine) with light general wear. The book is in a very good clipped dust jacket which has light rubbing and creasing to edges. Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

A masterful blend of fact and fiction about the inventor of the guillotine, the dictator who employs it and the beautiful revolutionary who bewitches them both.
