First USA edition, first print hardback of STARMAKER (The Autobiography of Hal Wallis) by Hal Wallis and Charles Higham and published by Macmillan in 1980. Signed with a personal message to Patrick McLoughlin by Wallis on the front endpaper (Patrick McLoughlin worked on several films as a Set Decorator/Dresser and was nominated for two Academy Awards). Full numberline 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. Includes a letter from Wallis to McLoughlin.

The book is in very good- condition (quarterbound black boards with yellow cloth spine; black lettering to spine). The book shows signs of ageing with age spotting and faded lettering on the spine, which also has creases to the top and bottom. The book is in a fair/good- unclipped dust jacket that has extensive wear along the edges with creasing and fingernail open tears, there is also a sticker mark on the back cover. On the inner dust jacket, there are creases and yellowing along the edges and inner spine. Internally, a few pages have small age spots but are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
