Signed 'with best wishes' to a previous owner by Palmer and Lloyd on the half title page. The book is in very good condition (red faux leather boards with black lettering to spine and front) with light bumping to the bottom corners of both boards and light creasing to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The book is in a very good clipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the top edges of the front and back covers, top and bottom of the spine, and a very small tear to the bottom edge of the front cover. The top page edges have some very light age spotting. Internally the pages are very lightly age tanned but otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
The Observer's Book of London aims to guide both the native and visitor along routes which link together the long and eciting years of London's history, from Roman times to the present day. It contains a rich assortment of material, the familiar mingling with the unexpected, the new with the old, which will reveal the charm and variety, the magic and the murk of one of the world's great cities.
