The lives of Freddie Foreman and Tony Lambrianou became linked for ever on the October 1967 night when Reggie Kray stabbed to death villain Jack 'The Hat' McVitie.

Lambrianou watched it happen and was stunned to be ordered, as the Kray twins left the murder scene, 'Fucking get rid of that...'

Neither Lambrianou nor Foreman knew about the other's involvement in the disappearance of the body until, almost a year and a half later, they stood in the dock at the Old Bailey. But now, in this unique series of conversations, they have pieced together their separate stories to produce for the first time ever the complete chronological account of that night's events.

But talking on and drinking late into the night, Foreman and Lambrianou also dramatically revisit all of their notorious crimes. While Freddie spells out how he became involved in murder, why he turned down a job on the Great Train Robbery and how he was dragged out of Spain, kicking, screaming and finally drugged. Tony paints a 3-D picture of the Krays, their operations and a betrayal that he has secretly resented for more than thirty years.

Here, at last, in real-life dialogue, is the truth behind the stereotype and the 'glamour'. Together they recreate the sights, smells, people and places of the underworld they knew and ruled, the prison sentences they endured and their extraordinary existence in society today.

Discarding the myths and digging deep to uncover buried details and emotions, Foreman and Lambrianou have taken even each other by surprise.
