First edition first print hardback of THE SCIENCE OF DRY FLY FISHING by Fred Shaw and published by Bradbury, Agnew, & Co in 1906. Signed and dated to a previous owner by Shaw on the back of the frontispiece.The book is in very good condition for its age (green leather boards with black lettering to spine and illustration to front) with light bumping to the corners of both boards, small indentations to the edges of the back board and light creasing and rubbing with small fingernail tears to the top and bottom of the spine. The illustration to the front board has very slightly faded with age. Age tanned page edges. No dust jacket. Internally the pages are age spotted and lightly yellowed with the occasional folding crease to a corner but the binding is tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.
The original 1906 guide on how to dry fly fish by Fred Shaw "The Amateur Champion" including black & white photographs and illustrations, plus several advertisements on dry fly fishing products and services.
