Francis Chichester GIPSY MOTH CIRCLES THE WORLD Signed Bookplate Second Print

First edition second print hardback of GIPSY MOTH CIRCLES THE WORLD by Francis Chichester and published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1967. Signed by Chichester on a bookplate attached to the front endpaper.

The book is in very good condition (blue cloth boards with silver lettering to spine) with light age related wear. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light rubbing to edges. Internally the pages are lightly age tanned but clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions.

Chichester's own unique account of the extraordinary feat that captured everyone's imagination, as he set out from Plymouth in his small ketch, overcoming enormous odds to reach Sydney and then Cape Horn before returning to Plymouth, his steering gear destroyed. It is an epic tale of determination and courage.
