"First Folio: A Little Book of Folio Forewords is a fine collection of introductions commissioned by The Folio Society from such acclaimed writers as William Trevor, Phillip Pullman, Peter Ackroyd and Helen Dunmore. Fifteen of the finest have been selected for this anthology. Iain Sincliar finds contemporary resonances in H. G. Well's The War of the Worlds. Tim Parks defends Machiavelli's The Prince. Jonathan Coe celebrates Tom Jones. These gems of literary insight make inspired reading in their own right."
