Fenton Bresler THE MYSTERY OF GEORGES SIMENON First Edition

First edition first print hardback of THE MYSTERY OF GEORGES SIMENON (A Biography) by Fenton Bresler and published by Heinemann / Quixote Press in 1983.

The book is in very good condition (navy blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light bumping here and there. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has light creasing to the top edges. The dust jacket is protected in an archival sleeve which has some small stains here and there (not on the jacket). Internally the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.

Creator of Inspector Maigret, author of 500 books, lover of 10,000 women, he insists he is a man like any other but few would agree with him. His life has been mysterious, traumatic, and laced with tragedy. It is full of contradictions and drama; a clear case of life imitating art...
