Felice Harcourt ESCAPE FROM THE TERROR Folio Society 1979

First folio printing slipcased hardback of ESCAPE FROM THE TERROR (The Journal of Madame de la Tour du Pin), edited and translated by Felice Harcourt. Published by The Folio Society in 1979.

The book is in very good+ condition (cloth boards with gilt bordering and lettering to front and spine) with no significant wear. The book is in a very good- slipcase that has light bumping, scuffing and cracking here and there. Small ink stains to the back board.

Madame de La Tour du Pin was fifty when she began her Journal and probably wrote it over a period of years, possibly at long intervals. It was never completed and ends with the return of Napoleon from Elba...
