First edition first print hardback of UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER by Evelyn Waugh and published by Chapman & Hall in 1961. Blue tinted top page edges.The book is in very good condition (dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine) with light general age-related wear. The book is in a very good unclipped dust jacket which has very light rubbing to the edges, light creasing to the top and bottom of the spine which also has a one inch closed tear to the top edge and some light age staining to the back cover. Internally, the pages are clean and tight and there are no tears or inscriptions.
Unconditional Surrender is the third novel in Waugh's Sword of Honour series, the author's examination of the Second World War. The novels loosely parallel Waugh's wartime experiences.
